NCAA Baseball Championship Selects Record 15 College Baseball Series Teams
ARLINGTON – Fifteen teams that participated in the 2026 College Baseball Series saw their seasons extended with berths in the NCAA Division I Baseball Championships, it was announced Monday morning.
Six of those teams earned national seeds, led by No. 1 UCLA who is the first team ever to hold the top spot for an entire season. No. 4 Auburn, No. 10 Florida State, No. 12 Texas A&M, No. 13 Nebraska and No. 14 Mississippi State earned regional host bids with UCLA and Auburn set to host a super regional should they advance.
The 15 tournament selections mark a new single-season record for the College Baseball Series, topping the 14 bids from 2025. REV Entertainment expanded its college baseball properties to three locations for the first time this season, hosting inaugural tournaments in Surprise, Arizona, and Cleburne, Texas, while college baseball was played at Globe Life Field for the sixth-straight season.
The three weekends of teams at Globe Life Field resulted in 12 NCAA tournament bids, including all six teams from the final weekend of the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series. The Shriners Children’s College Showdown and first weekend of the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series each had three teams selected. Oregon State will represent the Surprise College Baseball Series, while Cleburne received two bids in Tarleton State and Texas State.
REV Entertainment’s College Baseball Series has now produced 59 NCAA regional teams, since 2021, while 13 have advanced to the Men’s College World Series and three have won the national championship. The NCAA Division I Baseball Championships will begin with the regional round Friday, May 29 through June 1.
