REV ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES FIELD FOR 2027 SHRINERS CHILDREN’S COLLEGE SHOWDOWN

ARLINGTON, Texas – REV Entertainment today announced that Arizona, Clemson, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas and Virginia will open their 2027 seasons in the Shriners Children’s College Showdown, scheduled for Feb. 19-21, 2027, at Globe Life Field.

The Shriners Children’s College Showdown serves as the first of three consecutive weekends of elite Division I college baseball competition at Globe Life Field to begin the 2027 season.

“The Shriners Children’s College Showdown proves to be one of the nation’s premier regular season tournaments year after year,” said Jared Schrom, Senior Vice President of REV Entertainment. “The quality of teams and their fanbases coming together to support a meaningful cause through Shriners Children’s make Globe Life Field a special environment for everyone involved.”

The 2027 Shriners Children’s College Showdown marks the fourth consecutive year REV Entertainment will host the tournament at Globe Life Field. Five of the six participating teams have previously competed in the tournament, while Virginia will be making its first appearance in Arlington. The tournament has established itself as one of the sport’s premier launching pads for College World Series contenders. Since relocating to Arlington in 2024, five teams that opened their seasons in the event have gone on to reach the College World Series that same year, including national champions Tennessee and Oklahoma.

The Sooners will open their season in Arlington as the defending national champions, coming off the program's third national title and first since 1994. Their championship run in 2026 began at the Shriners Children's College Showdown where they earned the tournament title after outscoring their opponents 32-6 in three dominant victories. Texas also earned a berth in the 2026 College World Series and returns to the Shriners Children’s College Showdown after capturing the 2025 tournament title via tiebreaker. Arizona and Clemson were also a part of the 2025 field, while TCU is back for the second straight season after posting a 2-1 record during opening weekend in 2026.

The 2026 Shriners Children’s College Showdown set a Globe Life Field tournament attendance record for college baseball, drawing 57,772 fans over three days. The event also established a single-day college baseball record at the venue with 22,384 fans in attendance on Saturday, Feb. 22. Since relocating to Globe Life Field in 2024, the tournament has generated nearly $1 million in support of Shriners Children’s and its mission to improve the lives of children around the world.

"The Shriners Children’s College Showdown continues to set the standard for early-season college baseball, and we couldn’t be more excited for 2027,” said Dustin Johnson, Executive Director of Sports for Shriners Children’s. This tournament unites top-tier teams and fan bases in support of our mission to provide hope and healing to children around the world, regardless of the families’ ability to pay.”

Additional details, including matchups and game times will be announced at a later date. Every game of the Shriners Children’s College Showdown will be streamed on FloCollege.
